Hacking vocal identity

Voice technology has reached a level where it is possible to create credible speech synthesis, close to human characteristics and specific vocal signature. What are the tools to hack someone’s vocal identity? Is our voice protected online? In this talk, Melia will explain her own approach to build a vocal clone of herself. By presenting "the voice is voices", a sound installation also shown in Le Pavillon in Namur, you will experience this doubt, this ambiguity between a « real voice » and its artificial twin. Can a vocal clone give a glimpse of our identity?
